12.20pm report: Dr Ward just called, great news - he thinks dad is really doing a lot better today. He has been eating his thickened liquids on his own and they feel the feeding tube will come out in a day or so. They find that the internal bleeding has stopped, his hemoglobin numbers are rock steady, his kidney functions are improving and looking better and he is down to 3.5 Litres of oxygen. They will restart some meds that he had previously been on . They will also, in the next say or so, arrange to have PT come and start working with him on moving his body, etc. So all in all, doc said seems like we are turning a corner and all looks pretty good….(not forgetting that symptoms can change at the drop of a dime with COVID-19).
5.30pm report: Spoke with dad just now. Both mom and Felicia spoke with him earlier and he was feeling ok. His cognitive functions are stronger and he can now understand a bit of what is going on. He was moved to another unit - i believe another stop down, which is a good sign. He said hi to all my boys and even asked about the dogs. Please do not reach out to him at this time, we are limiting communication and really want/need him to rest. He said he will start PT on monday, and even wished me a happy Good Friday. I told him, yes, it was a good Friday!
11.30pm report: Dad is now on a medicine floor of non critical patients. Tonight i spoke with Yadira, a sweet nurse who said that dad seems to be doing really well. He is down to 2 Litres of oxygen and all other levels look steady. He has been asking for water and tolerating soft foods. It was nice to chat with dad today for a while, he really made me smile.
My Infared Sauna is a great escape to detox and recharge.
