Today I joined dad at his cardiologist visit with Dr. Weissman. He truly was amazed with Dad: "We've got a miracle here; You dodged a missile not a bullet; You are a miracle!' I think as we settle back into every day quarantine life we must not forget how much those words are true. Taking his pre-existing conditions into account he mentioned that dads chances of survival were truly less than 20%. Leave it to Dad - a fighter, beating the odds, always. Things are looking good for now as Dad is well into recovery. His Hemoglobin is up above 10 at 10.3 and rising, his oxygen steady at 97, blood pressure holding strong, and no temperatures reported. It is assumed that dads lungs are well into stages of clearing up, however his shortness of breath symptoms that still exist show he, of course, still has quite a bit of healing to do. So the focus now, for Dad is to eat well and exercise - for him that means walk, walk and more walking.. He'll go back for a check-up again in a month or so, but for now was sent off with well wishes and congratulations! Once Dad is further into his recovery he will want to donate plasma to help others regain their lives back - just as he did!
